July 16, 2023

A talented young violinist, Chloe Chua, amazed the audience and judges with her outstanding performance during the final round of the 2018 Menuhin Competition. Her rendition of the Baroque classic "Winter" from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons was truly remarkable, showcasing her remarkable skills and musicality. The competition that year featured exceptional junior talent, and Chua, along with Australian violinist Christian Li, who was only 10 at the time, shared the first prize.

Since then, Christian Li signed with Decca Classics at the age of 12, becoming the youngest musician to join the label. Similarly, Chloe Chua secured a contract with the renowned classical label Pentatone, releasing her debut album featuring Vivaldi's seasons and Locatelli's Harmonic Labyrinth in March. She now regularly performs as a soloist with prestigious orchestras in Europe and Asia and was recognized as one of Classic FM's Rising Stars for 2023.

Chua's breakthrough moment at the competition gained viral attention on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, further amplifying her incredible talent. Actor Michael B. Jordan was among the many who praised her performance, describing her as "incredible" and comparing her to a masterpiece at a chef's table. With such recognition and opportunities, Chua has a bright future ahead as a violin virtuoso.
