Zoe Lin is set to assume the newly established position with immediate effect.

The 39th Klein Competition is scheduled to take place at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music from June 1-2, 2024, where 8-9 young string players will vie for cash prizes and performance contracts. Applications are being accepted until February 3, 2024.

After serving as the executive director for seven years, Marcy Straw will now act as the Interim Executive Director, offering financial and resource development support.

As the new Deputy Director, Zoe Lin will oversee the production of the Klein Competition, concerts and events, outreach, operations, and alumni relations.

"I am deeply grateful to Mitchell Klein, the board, and the Klein community for welcoming me into the family this year," Zoe said. "With my new responsibilities, I am extremely excited to continue Klein's legacy, expanding our reach and audiences as we champion young musicians."

A 2022 graduate of the Columbia-Juilliard Exchange Program, Zoe holds degrees in English from Columbia and cello performance from Juilliard. She began studying the cello at the age of five and, at Juilliard, was part of Richard Aaron's studio, having previously studied under Michael Gelfandbein and Jonathan Koh.

She has performed at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music, Aspen Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, and Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra. Before joining Klein, Zoe held various roles at From The Top, Idagio, the Columbia Music Performance Program, and Park Ave Artists.
