Leigh Tiny Appointed as Executive Director of Four Winds, NSW's Distant South Coast Arts Organization

The NSW Distant South Coast’s Four Winds has announced that Leigh Tiny will become its new Executive director. Tiny is a career arts administrator. She was Executive Director of Sydney Dance Company during Graeme Murphy‘s tenure as Artistic Director, and two thousand ten to two thousand twenty-two served as CEO of the Sydney Film Festival. She's held several executive and board positions at organisations including the Sydney Opera Ho, Sydney Theatre Company and Belvoir St Theatre. As a freelance producer, Tiny has worked with Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the English National Ballet, produced The Iliad Out Loud for the Sydney and Adelaide festivals, and two thousand twenty-one Four Winds Festival. Recently she's worked with Wendy Beckett on developing theatrical productions for the Australian market, and strategic planning for Sydney independent company Ruddy Line Productions.

Four Winds began as a biennial fine music festival in one thousand nine hundred ninety-first. It's grown to become a multi-faceted organisation, including its signature festival held annually over Easter at its residence ground close Bermagui. Four Winds also presents a Nov Youth Music Festival lead by David Hewitt, an emerging Indigenous program lead by Walbunja, Ngarigo woman Cheryl Davison, in addition to performances, workshops, musicians-in-schools and artist-in-residence events throughout the year. As well as her arts experience, Tiny also brings local information to the role. She's owned a property N W of Bermagui, with her partner (actor William Zappa), for the past twelve years.
