What the russians did to LISZT’S PIANO

In his années de pélegrinage across Europe, Franz Liszt played on all the best pianos of his time.

Many are still kept in prime condition.

The musical city of Odesa was particularly proud of its Liszt piano.

Until the Russians bombed it.

The House of Scientists was damaged during Russia's overnight attack on Odessa on 23 July.

Inside the House of Scientists, a grand piano played by Franz Liszt was destroyed. The musical instrument remained in the city after the composer's tour in 1847.

All the windows and doors in the building were broken, there is damage in all the halls, furniture and an antique glass lantern were damaged. According to the director of the House of Scientists, "almost everything that we see here that is valuable was damaged".
