April 14, 2024

At the Opéra National de Paris, Ilanah Lobel-Torres, a member of the troupe, garnered unanimous acclaim from French critics for her inaugural performance this season as Krista in Krzysztof Warlikowski’s rendition of Věc Makropulos, conducted by Susanna Mälkki. Notably, she also seamlessly assumed the role of Beatriz in Calixto Bieito’s fresh interpretation of The Exterminating Angel, stepping in with less than 24 hours' notice, with composer Thomas Adès at the helm.

In the upcoming 2024/25 season, Lobel-Torres is set to grace the Opéra National de Paris stage once more, portraying Zerlina in Barrie Kosky’s innovative production of Les Brigands, guided by Stefano Montanari. Additionally, she will take on the role of Papagena in Robert Carsen’s presentation of Die Zauberflöte, led by Oksana Lyniv. In Puccini’s triptych, she will embody Un amante in Il Tabarro and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica, part of Christof Loy’s production, under the baton of Carlo Rizzi. Lastly, she will portray Pousette in Manon, directed by Vincent Huguet and conducted by Pierre Dumoussaud.
