Renowned German violist Tabea Zimmermann is set to join the ranks of distinguished artists such as violinists Ray Chen, Julia Fischer, María Dueñas, and pianist Lang Lang under the banner of KünstlerSekretariat am Gasteig.

In an official statement, the team expresses a warm embrace for Tabea Zimmermann's inclusion in KünstlerSekretariat am Gasteig. The team is excited to forge ahead with their collaboration, now with Tabea Zimmermann on board.

Zimmermann, recognized as one of the world's foremost violists, has held the prestigious positions of artist-in-residence at both the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. She frequently takes the spotlight as a soloist, captivating audiences worldwide alongside renowned orchestras.

Beyond her acclaimed performances, Zimmermann has demonstrated unwavering commitment to nurturing aspiring musicians as a professor. After two decades at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, she has returned to the Frankfurt Academy of Music to continue her teaching legacy.

Her accomplishments also extend to her role as a recipient of the esteemed Ernst von Siemens Music Prize. She holds a significant position on the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Fondation Hindemith and, more recently, assumed the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, following in the footsteps of Peter Ruzicka.

Zimmermann's influence in the music world is profound, as evidenced by the many works dedicated to her, including Ligeti's Sonata for Solo Viola. Her discography boasts over 50 recordings, a highlight being her comprehensive collection of Hindemith's viola works, which was released by myrios classics in 2013.
