Dr. Everett McCorvey, renowned tenor and conductor, has taken on the prestigious position of Principal Guest Conductor at Opera Columbus. In this role, he will lead one opera per season, collaborating with the Crane Directing Fellow and driving engagement initiatives within the Ohio community.
McCorvey, known as the founder of the American Spiritual Ensemble, also holds positions as the director of the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre, president of Global Creative Connections, and artistic director of the National Chorale. His extensive career spans various roles including singer, voice teacher, producer, administrator, and mentor.
With a repertoire including notable roles such as Don Jose in Carmen and Ferrando in Cosi Fan Tutte, McCorvey expresses his enthusiasm for joining Opera Columbus, highlighting the company's dedication to innovation and creativity.
