Inaugurated in 2015, the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition is organized by the University of Mozarteum Salzburg and serves as a platform for emerging talents in the fields of violin and piano.
The competition is open to violinists and pianists who are under the age of 23. It not only evaluates the technical prowess of young musicians but also places a significant emphasis on their ability to comprehend and interpret the nuances of classical music style.
Participants are categorized into three age groups: Group A comprises contestants aged 12 and below, Group B includes those aged 13 to 16, and Group C encompasses individuals aged 17 to 23.
The first prize for Group A winners is set at $7,500, while Group B's first prize amounts to $15,000, and the victor in Group C takes home a grand prize of $30,000.
This year's Violin Jury panel consists of Chairman Paul Roczek, Soon-Mi Chung Barratt-Due, Radu Blidar, Harald Eggebrecht, David Frühwirth, Kun Hu, Dora Schwarzberg, and Weidong Tong.
