Arena di Verona Shatters Records: 2024 Opera Festival Achieves Unprecedented Success with Record Revenue and Attendance

The Arena di Verona has announced record-breaking achievements for the 2024 season.

The venue reported that the 101st Arena di Verona Opera Festival concluded after three months with 50 performances and revenue totaling 33,620,000 euros, surpassing the figures from the previous season, which marked the company's 100th anniversary.

Additionally, the festival attracted 417,354 attendees, an increase of 15,000 from the 2023 season.

The audience comprised 57 percent international visitors from 136 countries, including Barbados, Cambodia, Aruba, Germany, the United States, South Korea, Canada, and Spain. The festival featured 16 sold-out shows, including four performances of “Turandot,” which drew 40,000 spectators.

For the upcoming season, the Arena di Verona will kick off with a new staging of Verdi’s “Nabucco” by Stefano Poda. The season will also feature a gala concert by Jonas Kaufmann, as well as revivals of “Carmen,” “Aida,” “La Traviata,” and “Rigoletto.”
