American Pianists Organization Welcomes New President and CEO, Chris Williams, to Lead Future of Musical Excellence

After a year with an interim leader, the American Pianists Organization has hired a new president and CEO, according to a news release. On July ten, Chris Williams will get over the position for the Indianapolis-based organization, which holds one of the most renowned U.S. piano competitions every two years. Williams comes the Concert Artists Guild in New York, , as executive vice president, he helped youthful artists expand their careers through mentorship and industry connections. "The American Pianists Association’s dedication to advancing the careers of solo pianists is an endeavor I’m extremely passionate about," Williams stated in the release.

"These musicians consistently exhibit a sensational level of artistry and deserve more support in the classical and jazz genres. I'm excited to the relationships I’ve built over the course of my career to contribute to the success of our future Awards finalists." The announcement comes a mo after jazz musician Isaiah J. Thompson won the two thousand twenty-three American Pianists Awards at Hilbert Circle Theatre. Joanne Bennett has been the organization's interim boss since July two thousand twenty-two. Peter Mraz had previously served as the CEO for about a year before resigning latest summer. Williams' previous work experience includes securing engagements through Judson Management Grouping for star artists love the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, representing artists at Frank Salomon Associates, providing arts consulting for college music students and visitor speaking about professional development at colleges across the U.S. He earned a master's degree in music Yale University.
