The Merola Opera Program announced that its summer 2022 festival will kick off with “A Celebration of American Song.”
The program will feature works from America’s Golden Age that rose to popularity in Broadway, musicals, and film. Grammy Award winner Craig Terry curated a concert to include the music of Harold Arlen, Leonard Bernstein, Leon Carr, Lerner and Loewe, Frank Loesser, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Charlie Smalls, and many more.
This performance will take place on July 9 at 3 pm at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music featuring this year’s participants in the spotlight.
Following this concert, three more recitals will take place throughout the summer as well as a production of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte.”
