Echoes of Change: Teatro alla Scala Orchestra Enchants Dubai in 'Concert for Tomorrow' Amidst COP28's Climate Focus

The Teatro alla Scala Orchestra is set to make its debut in Dubai on December 1, marking a significant cultural exchange and an effort to raise awareness about environmental issues during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28).

The renowned Milanese orchestra, led by Maestro Michele Gamba, will perform at the Dubai Opera, presenting a gala concert titled "Concert for Tomorrow." This event is closely aligned with COP28 and aims to draw attention to climate issues through the universal language of music.

Accompanying the orchestra will be soprano Aida Garifullina and Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo, who will enchant the audience with works by Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni, and Donizetti.

Supported by Plenitude, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as the Italian Ministry of Culture, the program will feature symphonic compositions from Nabucco, interludes from Cavalleria Rusticana and Manon Lescaut, and beloved arias and duets from Traviata, Bohème, Gianni Schicchi, and Rigoletto.

Dominique Meyer, Superintendent of the Teatro alla Scala Foundation, expressed his profound delight about the orchestra's debut in Dubai. He highlighted the significance of presenting masterpieces by Verdi and Puccini, emphasizing their timeless essence. Meyer also underscored the commitment of La Scala to addressing climate change, emphasizing their dedication to energy efficiency and resource optimization.
