The Toledo Opera has unveiled its 2025-26 season lineup.
The upcoming season will include two major productions.
In a statement, Toledo Opera’s general director, James M. Norman, expressed excitement about the season, saying, “We’re thrilled to present a lineup brimming with passion, love, and timeless music. In honor of the 150th anniversary of Carmen, we’ll showcase Bizet’s iconic opera with a production that emphasizes its dramatic intensity and fiery energy. Alongside this, we’ll feature Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, a delightful and charming story filled with romance and humor. This season is sure to enchant both devoted opera fans and newcomers alike. We welcome the community to experience a series of unforgettable performances that celebrate the beauty and power of opera.”
The season will kick off with Bizet’s Carmen, starring mezzo-soprano Taylor Raven as Carmen, tenor Brendan Boyle as Don José, and baritone Joshua Jeremiah as Escamillo. Adam Turner will conduct.
Performance Dates: October 10 & 12, 2025, at Valentine Theatre.
Next, Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love will feature tenor David Walton as Nemorino, soprano Marnie Breckenridge as Adina, and baritone Jason Budd as Dr. Dulcamara, with J. Ernest Green conducting the beloved bel canto opera.
Performance Dates: February 13 & 15, 2026, at Valentine Theatre.
