The Vienna State Opera has announced the 67th Opera Ball, set to take place on February 27, with a focus on Johann Strauss.
The event will feature musical performances by Juan Diego Flórez, Nadine Sierra, Maria Nazarova, and Daniel Jenz. The Vienna State Opera Orchestra will be conducted by Cornelius Meister. The program will include favorites such as the "Csárdás," the waltz "Frühlingsstimmen," "Bella enamorada," and "Alle maskiert" from Eine Nacht in Venedig.
The evening will also showcase a new ballet creation by Martin Schläpfer, the ballet director and chief choreographer of the Wiener Staatsballett. The Wiener Staatsballett will perform the "Imperial Waltz," with soloists and four students from the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy joining in.
