In other words, the ultimate stage of the competition will occur on October 29 and will be broadcast live on The Violin Channel.

Established in 1939, Concours de Genève is a prestigious international music competition with the goal of identifying, promoting, and supporting young, talented artists, equipping them with the tools needed for a successful global career. Different main categories are featured each year, including piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, viola, string quartet, voice, percussion, and composition (held biennially).

The 77th edition of the Concours de Genève is scheduled to take place from October 23 to November 4, 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland.

As the official media and broadcast partner, The Violin Channel is streaming all rounds of this year's string quartet competition, and the recordings will be available for later viewing.

The finals will feature three string quartets:

  1. QUATUOR ELMIRE from France, comprising David Petrlik and Yoan Brakha (Violins), Hortense Fourrier (Viola), and Rémi Carlon (Cello).

  3. NOVO QUARTET from Denmark, including Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard (Violins), Daniel Śledziński (Viola), and Signe Ebstrup Bitsch (Cello).

The panel of judges for the String Quartet competition includes Corina Belcea as the Chair, along with Stefan Fehlandt, Nobuko Imai, Gabriel Le Magadure, Christian Poltéra, Vineta Sareika, and Lydia Shelley.

Prizes for the competition include CHF 20,000 for the first-place winner, CHF 12,000 for the second-place winner, and CHF 8,000 for the third-place winner. Additional accolades, such as the Audience Prize, Young Audience Prize, and Students Prize, will also be awarded.

Furthermore, the competition offers career development opportunities to its winners, providing two years of management support from the Sartory Artists agency. During this period, laureates will embark on an international concert tour and can participate in the Prizewinners Workshop organized by Concours de Genève. This workshop covers various aspects, including performance, health, career management, image, and social media.

On October 29, the three finalists will perform a string quartet piece of their choice at Geneva's Victoria Hall during the Final Round.
