Soprano Hilá Plitmann Returns to LSU for a Night of Musical Masterpieces
4 October, 2024

On October 15, 2024, soprano Hilá Plitmann will perform as a soloist with the LSU Wind Ensemble, LSU Symphony Orchestra, and LSU A Cappella Choir at the Union Theatre.

In her statement, Plitmann expressed her excitement, saying, “I am delighted to return to the fantastic music department at LSU. I had the pleasure of performing Michael Daugherty’s ‘Songs from a Silent Land’ with Maestro Damon Talley and the LSU Wind Ensemble in 2019, which remains one of my most cherished musical experiences. This year, I am eager to explore John Corigliano’s masterpiece ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’ with the Wind Ensemble and collaborate with the LSU Choir and Orchestra on Poulenc’s ethereal choral work ‘Gloria.’ Above all, I look forward to connecting with everyone and engaging in meaningful discussions about art, music, and life.”

The concert will feature compositions by Carolyn Shaw and Poulenc’s “Gloria.”

Plitmann is an acclaimed vocalist who has premiered works by David Del Tredici and has performed at Carnegie Hall, as well as with the LA Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Boston Symphony, and San Francisco Symphony.
