Soprano Beautiful Yende Forced to Cancel Austrian Performance Due to Injury

One of the voices who kept the masses entertained at King Charles’ coronation latest weekend, S African-born soprano, Beautiful Yende has been forced to cancel a performance in Austria due to an injury. Yende, made history by being the first African singer to carry out solo for the coronation of a British monarch. The artist took to her Instagram account on Thursday to share the unfortunate news about cancelling her latest show. “Dear Friends, I’m so sorry to report that I'll not be able to carry out my latest performance of Manon at Wiener Staatsoper due to sustaining a very serious injury during my second performance on the stage before going to sing at the Coronation.

“I was hoping that my injury would recede but unfortunately, it’s not the case and I've to chase medical advises my doctors and get care in order to heal as quickly as possible,” Yende wrote on Instagram. “I would love to send my sincerest apologies to my colleagues and the theatre, deepest thanks as they were incredibly kind to me during the latest performances after my injury. I hope to be well soon and resume my artistic commitments. Many thanks to the public of Vienna who were there and have been kindly asking if I’m going to be ok.” Yende had already performed at the Wiener Staatsoper latest week Wednesday, and was due to get the stage again this coming Saturday.

Yende did Sarah Class’ The Sacred Fire at the Coronation on Saturday to much adulation the global community. Yende is a S African opera soprano living in and working in Europe. She's performed leading roles at opera hos internationally, including La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera. She graduated the Univ of Cape Town and completed her post-graduate degree at La Scala’s prestigious academy. Katlego Maboe was one of the many who commented on the post with words of encouragement to Yende. “Get well soon, Queen,” wrote the media personality.

Award winning composer Shirley Thompson also wished Yende well. “How incredible that you performed at The Coronation after sustaining such an injury, dear Pretty!!! You're truly heaven. Wishing you a swift & outstanding recovery, Maestro Pretty.” The playho she was billed to carry out at, also commented on her post. “We wish you all the best and a fast recovery,” the Wiener Staatsoper said through their Instagram page.
