Malmö Opera is gearing up to stage Jonas Forssell’s “Death and the Maiden.” Premiering in 2008, this rendition of the dramatic opera delves into themes of guilt and reconciliation, with Tobias Theorell at the helm, promising a fresh perspective on Forssell’s work.

Under the baton of Patrik Ringborg, a stellar cast including Julia Sporsén, Fredrik Zetterström, and Dimitris Paksoglou will bring this compelling narrative to life.

Inspired by Ariel Dorfman's play, who also penned the libretto, “Death and the Maiden” was adapted into a film in 1994 by Roman Polanski, starring Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley.
