14 September, 2024

Jonathan Bradley has been appointed as the Executive Director of Voices of Ascension, a renowned professional chorus based in New York City.

Bradley brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous role as Executive Director at The Crossing. During his tenure there, he successfully expanded the ensemble's production and budget, achieving a remarkable doubling over five seasons. His leadership also saw the release of 12 albums, 24 world premieres, and two international choral-theater projects. His efforts contributed to The Crossing winning three Grammy Awards and receiving nine nominations.

In his announcement, Bradley expressed his enthusiasm about joining Voices of Ascension. He looks forward to working with Dennis Keene, the Board of Directors, the staff, and the chorus’s dedicated supporters to enhance the group's renowned tradition of artistic excellence and innovative programming. Bradley emphasized the role of choral music as a deeply accessible and inclusive medium, which he believes will continue to serve as a powerful means for people to connect with their world and each other.

Voices Artistic Director Dennis Keene also shared his excitement about Bradley's appointment, praising him as a dynamic and passionate leader who will build on the impressive achievements of his predecessor, Liz Norman, and usher in a new era for the ensemble.

This season, Voices of Ascension will feature performances including their annual Candlelight Christmas Concerts, an a cappella presentation of works by Giovanni Palestrina and Tomás Luis de Victoria, and a rendition of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, among other notable works.
