Jihoon Park Triumphs at the 6th Éva Marton International Singing Competition: Full List of 2024 Winners Announced

The 6th Éva Marton International Singing Competition in Budapest has announced the winners for 2024.

The top prize was awarded to tenor Jihoon Park, with baritone Mihai Damian taking second place. Mezzo-soprano Wu Hongni earned the third prize, while soprano Alexandra Zotova received Éva Marton's special award. The audience prize went to soprano Yeo Yeeun.

Soprano Zoe Hippius and Jihoon Park both won the award for best Liszt interpretation. Jihoon Park and Wu Hongni have been invited to perform with the Hungarian State Opera. Baritone Mihai Damian has been invited by Müpa Budapest and the Hungarian Radio Art Group, while Alexandra Zotova will attend a master class with jury member Anatoli Goussev. Soprano Elizaveta Kulagina received invitations from the Liszt Academy and the Hungarian State Opera. Baritone Dinmukhamed Koshkinbayev was awarded the 1000 euros Bravo Baritone Prize by the Classic Mecenat Foundation of Mongolia. Soprano Shannon Keegan received an invitation from the House of Music Hungary, and soprano Renáta Gebe-Fűgi won a media package from Papageno.

The competition took place at the Hungarian State Opera and was judged by Éva Marton, Anatoli Goussev, Peter Mario Katona, Miguel Lein, Andrea Melath, Szilveszter Okovacs, Christina Sheppelmann, Vittorio Terranova, and Dmitry Vdovin.
