Jennifer Ritvo Hughes Appointed CEO of American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Aiming for Artistic Excellence and Cultural Exchange

Jennifer Ritvo Hughes, who previously served as the executive director of the Boston Baroque orchestra, has taken up a new role as the CEO of the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO), an organization that supports one of the Jewish state's most significant artistic ambassadors. In her new position, Hughes expressed her commitment to promoting cultural exchange, fostering artistic excellence, and enhancing the transformative impact of the renowned orchestra. With her background in musicology, including a master's degree from Brandeis University, Hughes brings substantial musical expertise to her role.

The previous CEO, Danielle Ames Spivak, announced her departure to prioritize spending more time with her family. Reflecting on her tenure, Spivak expressed profound gratitude for the friendships she had formed and described the past 12 years as personally fulfilling and meaningful. Despite stepping down as CEO, Spivak pledged to remain involved with AFIPO as a member and supporter.
