Highlights of Vocal Performances at the 2024 Patmos Music Festival: A Season of Schubert, Sacred Music, and Renaissance Masterpieces

Details of the 2024 Patmos Music Festival have been announced.

This article will focus solely on vocal performances. This year’s festival, held under the auspices of UNESCO, features the third edition of the Chamber Music Festival and the 22nd edition of the Sacred Music Festival.

Tenor Ian Bostridge and pianist Maya Oganya, along with other instrumentalists, will perform works by Schubert.

Performance Date: October 27, 2024

Bostridge will return to the stage with pianist Roberto Prosseda to present additional Schubert pieces.

The Tallis Scholars will open the Sacred Music Festival's inaugural concert, conducted by Peter Philips.

Soprano Eleni-Lydia Stamellou will perform music by Hildegard von Bingen, Francesco Provenzale, William Byrd, and others, accompanied by instrumentalists Konstantin Shenikov and Antoine Billet.

The MusicAeterna Byzantina Choir will lead UNESCO’s 25th Anniversary Concert, conducted by Antonios Koutroupis.

Performance Date: September 6, 2024

The Kalifonica Vocal Quartet, featuring Eleni-Lydia Stamellou, contralto Anastasia Guliaeva, tenor Artem Volkov, and bass Ilia Manzurov, will present a concert of Renaissance music.
