1 November, 2024

The Orchestre Classique de Montréal will present “French Impressions” on November 20, 2024.

The program includes Fauré’s “Pavane” and selected songs, Brott’s “Lament,” Ravel’s “Petite Symphonie à cordes” and “Chansons de Don Quichotte à Dulcinée,” as well as Roussel’s “Sinfoniette” Op. 52. Baritone Jean-François Lapointe, who serves as the artistic director of Opéra de Québec, will be the featured soloist. The concert will be conducted by Andrei Feher.

“I am thrilled to conduct this French program with the OCM. The rich variety of French music has always inspired me, showcasing numerous playing styles and atmospheres. We are fortunate to have Jean-François Lapointe performing Ravel and Fauré, and we will also honor Alexander Brott with ‘Lament’ for strings. This concert will be a vibrant celebration of the French music I have always cherished,” Feher stated in a press release.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. local time at Pierre-Mercure Hall.
