The Los Angeles Opera will host a free live simulcast of Puccini’s "Madama Butterfly" on September 21, 2024, at two outdoor venues: El Cariso Community Regional Park and Santa Monica Pier.

This event marks the second simulcast at El Cariso Community Regional Park and the 11th installment of “Opera at the Beach” at Santa Monica Pier.

The production features Karah Son making her LA debut as Cio-Cio San, with tenor Jonathan Tetelman as Pinkerton, and James Conlon as the conductor.

Lindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for the Third District, commented in an official press release, “Experiencing opera under the stars is a magical, distinctly LA tradition. This season, I’m excited to extend the reach of Madama Butterfly to more communities in the Third District through simulcasts at Santa Monica Pier and El Cariso Park in Sylmar.
