On January 4, 2025, Freddie De Tommaso gave an impromptu performance at the Gstaad New Year Music Festival.
The British-Italian tenor stepped in to replace Andrè Schuen, who was unable to perform due to illness.
De Tommaso presented a selection of “Favorite arias for tenor,” accompanied by pianist James Baillieu.
This performance took place just a day after De Tommaso’s festival debut, where he joined Lise Davidsen and Baillieu for a program featuring works by Verdi, Ponchielli, Cilea, Puccini, Tosti, Grieg, Loewe, and Lehar.
The Gstaad New Year Music Festival this season has also showcased artists such as Sonya Yoncheva, Jonathan Tetelman, Elina Garanca, Rosa Feola, and Golda Schultz. The festival will continue until January 11, 2025.
