The Canadian Opera Company will present Gounod’s “Faust” at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The opera will run on October 11, 13, 16, 18, 24, 26, and November 2, 2024. Directed by Amy Lane, the production features sets and costumes by Emma Ryott and is a co-production with Malmo Opera.

Johannes Debus, the COC's Music Director, will conduct the opera. The cast includes Long Long as Faust, Kyle Ketelsen as the demon Méphistophélès, and Guanqun Yu as Marguerite. Ensemble Studio soprano Ariane Cossette will perform in the final show on November 2.

Other cast members include mezzo-soprano and Ensemble Studio alumna Alex Hetherington as Siebel, Ensemble Studio baritone Korin Thomas-Smith as Wagner, Szymon Mechlinski as Valentin, and mezzo-soprano Meghan Latham as Marthe.

The opera will be sung in French with English surtitles provided.
