Conductor Umberto Clerici Joins IMG Artists for Global Representation

Conductor Umberto Clerici has signed with IMG Artists for general management.

Clerici will be represented by Nicholas Mathias, Global Artist Management Consultant, and Derek Chandruang, Senior Vice President, both based in the London office.

In a statement, Clerici expressed, “I am thrilled to be joining the esteemed roster of IMG Artists, and especially excited to be represented by Derek Chandruang and Nicholas Mathias, whose unique blend of artistic vision, ambition, and experience is rare. I am grateful to have found my artistic home so quickly and look forward to the next stage of my career on the global stage. The future is bright and filled with music in this new year and for many more to come.”

Having spent two decades as a cello soloist and orchestral musician, Clerici transitioned to conducting. He is currently the Chief Conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and has led numerous prestigious ensembles, including the Volksoper Vienna, Orchestra del Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, and the Sydney Symphony. Clerici made his opera debut with Opera Queensland conducting Verdi’s Macbeth and will return this season to conduct Puccini’s La Bohème.
