Columbia University’s School of the Arts Presents: A Bold New Adaptation of Weill and Brecht's 'The Threepenny Opera

Columbia University's School of the Arts will be showcasing Weill and Brecht's "The Threepenny Opera."

The adaptation has been created by Leah Plante-Wiener, with additional music and orchestration provided by Nate Weida, who also collaborated with Benjamin Viertel on the translation.

Viertel, known for his work on various off-Broadway productions, will direct this show as part of his Directing Thesis.

The cast features Jake Brinskele, Jacqui Byrne, Fred Rice, Emily Kleypass, Adam Brett, David Hernandez III, Hannah Karpenko, Brayden Co, Caleb Christensen, Hanna Shykind, Darby Puckett, and Nate Weida.

"The Threepenny Opera" will premiere on October 17, 2024, and will have five performances until October 20. Two of the shows on October 19 and 20 will begin at 2 p.m., while the other three performances will start at 8 p.m.
