Christopher Lichtenstein has renewed his contract with Den Jyske Opera, where he will continue as the chief conductor in Aarhus for the next three years. Starting in the summer of 2025, he will also assume the role of chief conductor at Theater Osnabrück.
Since September 2020, Lichtenstein has served as the Music Director of Den Jyske Opera, having first appeared with the company in 2018 for the Scandinavian premiere of Weinberg’s “The Passenger.” He has since conducted performances of Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and the world premiere of Karsten Fundal’s “Inkognito Royal.”
Lichtenstein’s experience also includes conducting at Staatstheater Kassel, Theater Wolfsburg, the Regensburg Philharmonic, and Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. He began his career as a repetiteur and vocal coach at Staatstheater Braunschweig before rising to the position of First Kapellmeister.
This November, Lichtenstein will lead the Odense Symphony Orchestra in performance.
