Boson Mo has been appointed as the new concertmaster of Arizona's Phoenix Symphony. He will take on this role at the beginning of the 2023/24 season and will lead the orchestra in the performance of Orff's Carmina Burana.
Before joining the Phoenix Symphony, Mo was a part of the Houston Symphony and has also served as the acting assistant concertmaster of the Vancouver Symphony. Furthermore, he has performed with prestigious ensembles such as the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Mo has achieved several significant milestones in his career, including winning the third prize at the 2013 Michael Hill International Violin Competition and receiving the Prix Joseph-Rouleau at the 2010 Montreal International Violin Competition. Additionally, he reached the final 25 participants at the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition.
He holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he studied under the guidance of Paul Kantor and Keqiang Li.
