Opera Saratoga has revealed that Amanda Robie will take on the role of Executive Director of the company.
Previously serving as the Managing Director, Robie will now work closely with the General and Artistic Director, as well as the Board of Directors, to help shape and guide the company's strategic vision moving forward.
In her announcement, Robie expressed, “It is a great honor to step into the Executive Director role at Opera Saratoga. I am excited to continue working with this remarkable organization and vibrant community to ensure opera remains a thriving part of the region's cultural landscape.”
Mary Birnbaum, the General and Artistic Director, shared, “Amanda is an essential part of Opera Saratoga, and both the Board and I are deeply grateful that she has taken on this new leadership position. Her warmth, leadership, and extensive understanding of the art form make her a key figure at Opera Saratoga. Artists, technicians, and staff consistently point to her as a major reason they return to the company. I look forward to continuing our collaboration and working alongside her to shape the future of Opera Saratoga, starting with the 2025 Summer Festival, which will run from May 20 to June 29.”
Robie, a Saratoga Springs resident, began her career as a mezzo-soprano. She previously performed with Opera Saratoga in the company’s 2013 production of “H.M.S. Pinafore” and has held roles with the Boston Opera Collaborative, Fort Worth Opera, and Boston Lyric Opera.
