Ziyu He takes the stage at Singapore's Esplanade Hall in 2022, showcasing his mastery in the Beethoven Violin Concerto alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Hans Graf, with whom he frequently collaborates. The performance also includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major, Op. 60, composed in the same year as the concerto.
Ziyu's musical journey began in China under the guidance of Xiangrong Zhang at the age of five. At ten, he was mentored by Paul Roczek at the Mozarteum University, where he later completed his master's degree in 2021. Currently, he continues his violin studies with Benjamin Schmid and Paul Roczek, and his viola studies with Thomas Riebl.
At just 18, Ziyu made his orchestral debut with the Vienna Philharmonic and conductor Adam Fischer at the prestigious Musikverein, solidifying his place as one of the youngest soloists to achieve such a feat. He boasts victories at esteemed competitions like the International Mozart Competition and the Yehudi Menuhin Competition, and was named the Eurovision Young Musician of the Year in 2014.
His talent has graced stages worldwide, performing with renowned orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. Additionally, Ziyu is a member of the acclaimed Altenberg Trio, regularly enchanting audiences at the Vienna Musikverein's Brahmssaal.
Ziyu's artistry is complemented by his instruments—a 1688 Andrea Guarneri violin and a 1797 Giuseppe Guadagnini viola—both graciously loaned to him by generous private sponsors.
