The 2025 Opera Aperta International Festival will culminate with a captivating performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s timeless opera “La Traviata.”
Stepping into the role of Violetta is Diana Alexe, with Eusebiu Huțan portraying Alfredo. The talented ensemble is completed by Alexandra Leșiu, Oana Trîmbițaș, Geani Brad, Florin Pop, Cristian Hodrea, Bogdan Nistor, Petre Burcă, Iosiah Balteș, Varga János, and Cristina Tureanu. The production is helmed by directors Nadine Duffaut and Iulian Dumitraș, promising a fresh interpretation of this beloved classic.
The Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca’s Orchestra, Choir, and Ballet Ensemble will bring the score to life, conducted by the esteemed David Crescenzi, whose nuanced direction is sure to enhance the emotional depth of Verdi’s music.
In addition to “La Traviata,” the festival showcases other remarkable performances, including Verdi’s dark and dramatic “Macbeth,” a vibrant gala dedicated to French music, and a “Puccini Gala” featuring artists from the Iași National Opera, celebrating the Italian composer’s enduring legacy.
The performance of “La Traviata” is set for June 29 at 8:30 p.m. local time and will unfold in the enchanting atmosphere of Unirii Square’s open-air theatre, offering audiences a memorable evening under the stars.
