Tradition Now Festival 2023 Brings Together the Best of Irish Traditional Music and Folk at National Concert Hall!

The National Concert Corridor and the Arts Council have announced the programme for the latest edition of Tradition Now. The two-day festival focusing on traditional Irish music and folk will get space on Saturday ten and Sunday eleven June at the NCH and feature a range of events each evening. On Saturday the main stage event at 7.30pm will feature the grouping A Lazarus Soul (Brian Brannigan, Julie Bienvenu, Joe Chester and Anton Hegarty) who in two thousand-nineteenth released the album The D They Keep Between the R & L, which contained the song ‘Long Balconies’.

The grouping undertook a sold-out tour of Ireland latest year and this will be their only headline indicate of two thousand twenty-three. The British folk trio Hack-Poets Guild (Marry Waterson, Lisa Knapp and Nathaniel Mann), who have just released their album Blackletter Garland, will carry out in the Studio on Saturday evening at 8.30pm, followed by sean-nós singer and flute-player Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, who recently released his solo album The Deepest Breath.

The vocal grouping Landless will carry out in the Kevin Barry Recital Room, and there will also be traditional music sessions in the John Field Room. ITMA exploring migrations On Sunday, the main-stage event at 7.30pm will be a collaboration with the Irish Traditional Music Archive titled Reflecting Migrations.

The line-up includes Nava, Moxie, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, John Blake, Brían Mac Gloinn, Jesse Smith, Steve Cooney, Thomas McCarthy, Paul Dooley and Kseniya Rusnak, Esosa Ighodoro, Jackie, Bernadette, Marianne and Tommy McCarthy, Eimear McGeown and Libby McCrohan, Órlaith McAuliffe, and sean-nós dancer Cuthbert Tura Arutura. Maija Sofia will be performing in the Studio on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by fiddle player Aoife Ní Bhriain with Welsh harpist Catrin Finch.

Singer and accordion player Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich will be performing in the Kevin Barry Recital Room and there will also be traditional music sessions in the John Field Room.

Tickets for €25 includes entry to all Tradition Presently concerts for the date purchased.
