Thomas Blunt has been appointed Principal Conductor of the Coro da Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo.

Blunt shared his excitement on social media, stating, “I am thrilled to be starting as Principal Conductor of the Coro da Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo next year! I have had the privilege of working with this choir for nearly 15 years, and I look forward to this new chapter alongside them, as well as joining Thierry Fischer and the Osesp family.”

Blunt pursued his education at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Music in London. He has collaborated with prestigious ensembles like the London Philharmonic and Philharmonia Orchestras. Blunt has strong ties to Glyndebourne, where he began his career as Chorus Master before moving on to conducting roles.

His conducting experience also includes performances at the Royal Danish Opera, Welsh National Opera, Longborough Festival Opera, Royal Opera House, Bampton Classical Opera, and the Buxton Festival.
