On July 4, 2025, Teatro alla Scala will present a live stream of Vincenzo Bellini’s opera “Norma” on its La Scala TV platform. The production, directed by Olivier Py, will feature Marina Rebeka in the lead role, with Freddie De Tommaso as Pollione, Michele Pertusi as Oroveso, and Vasilisa Berzhanskaya as Adalgisa. The opera has been absent from La Scala’s stage since 1977, when Gianandrea Gavezzeni conducted a production featuring Montserrat Caballé. “Norma” first graced the iconic theater in 1831, with performances by Giuditta Pasta, Giulia Grisi, and Domenico Donzelli. It was later performed by Maria Callas on the Piermarini stage in 1952 and 1955.

The run of “Norma” begins on June 27 and continues until July 17, 2025.
