One month prior to the opening, singers continue to withdraw from the performance lineup.

The most recent withdrawal is from Emily Magee, who has informed the Wagner group that she is unable to perform the roles of Sieglinde (Walküre) and Gutrune (Götterdämmerung) due to an infection that is still in the process of healing. Magee has been a performer at Bayreuth since 1997.

Elisabeth Teige and Aile Asszonyi will be stepping in as replacements for Magee.

Previously, John Lundgren and Dmitry Belosselskiy had also withdrawn from the Bayreuth performances.
