Sarah Curran has been appointed as the Executive Director of UChicago Presents, starting from June 1, according to an announcement made by The University of Chicago, represented by David J. Levin, Senior Advisor to the Provost for Arts, and Lawrence Zbikowski, Chair of the Department of Music.

Curran, who has been serving as the Interim Executive Director of UChicago Presents for the past year, is an experienced arts consultant and curator. Her expertise spans various artistic disciplines, including music, theater, dance, contemporary performance, visual arts, and film. She is known for her curatorial practice, which emphasizes interdisciplinary collaborations and socially responsive programming.

Before joining UChicago Presents, Curran held the position of Director of the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University from 2017 to 2019. During her time there, she also served as the Managing Director of Wesleyan's Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance (ICPP), a Master's degree program focusing on artist-centered curatorial training in time-based art. Prior to Wesleyan, Curran spent eight years with Stanford Arts, where she worked as the Director of Programming and Partnerships, and later became the Associate Director of the Stanford Arts Institute.

Throughout her career, Curran has collaborated with renowned institutions such as The Tribeca Film Festival, Martha Graham Dance Company, the Chicago Humanities Festival, and North Lawndale College Prep Charter High School. She holds a Master of Arts in Performance Studies from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, an AB degree from Princeton University, and certificates in Curatorial Practice in Performance from Wesleyan University and management from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

As UChicago Presents prepares to celebrate its 80th season, Curran will take the lead in shaping the organization's future. Building upon its rich history of delivering exceptional musical performances to campus, she aims to broaden the scope of UCP's programming and strengthen its ties with campus partners.

Curran expressed her vision for UChicago Presents, stating, "I view UChicago Presents as a vital platform for offering accessible, innovative, and world-class performances to audiences both on campus and in the wider community."
