Glyndebourne has revealed that Sam Garner-Gibbons will be its new Technical and Production Director.
Garner-Gibbons has spent the past nine seasons at Chichester Festival Theatre. He will begin his role at Glyndebourne in January 2025. Over his career, he has collaborated with various institutions, including Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, The Young Vic, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and Wembley Concert Hall, among others.
“After three wonderfully fulfilling decades at Chichester, I feel incredibly fortunate to dive into the world of opera and join Glyndebourne as it approaches its centenary. This is an exhilarating time for such a stunning venue, and being part of the team to realize its vision for the next decade is a dream come true,” Garner-Gibbons stated in an official press release.
“I am thrilled to announce Sam’s appointment as Technical and Production Director at Glyndebourne. He brings extensive experience and expertise, joining our executive team at a pivotal moment as we prepare for the company’s centenary, with the goal of transforming Glyndebourne into a cutting-edge center of artistic excellence,” said Stephen Langridge, Artistic Director of Glyndebourne, in an official press release.
