The Teatro San Carlo announced a new adjustment to its lineup for the production of “La Traviata.”
In response to Lisette Oropesa's sudden illness, the company stated that Rosa Feola will take over the role of Violetta Valéry for performances on July 24, 27, and 30, 2024.
Oropesa addressed her absence on social media, expressing her ongoing recovery from illness and the advice of doctors to rest further due to issues related to acid reflux. Consequently, she will not perform in the last three shows of “La Traviata” this month. She thanked Rosa Feola for stepping in at short notice.
These adjustments follow Oropesa's earlier cancellations on July 14, 17, and 20, during which Marina Rebeka performed as the lead.
Rosa Feola, known for her previous portrayals of Violetta in Venice and Savona, will now join a cast featuring Kang Wang and Luca Salsi. Giacomo Sagripanti will conduct Lorenzo Amato's production.
