Soprano and pianist Chelsea Guo will make her debut performances in New York City and Washington D.C. this February.
The 2022 First Prize winner of the YCA Susan Wadsworth International Auditions will perform at Merkin Hall in the Kaufman Music Center on February 6, 2025, before heading to The Kennedy Center on February 19, 2025. Her program will delve into the musical bond between Chopin and the pianist- mezzo-soprano Pauline Viardot, alongside works by Weill, Sondheim, Fauré, Ravel, and Ives.
Guo was named one of "Classic FM’s Rising Stars: 30 Brilliant Musicians We’re Celebrating in 2022," and released her debut album in 2021 through Orchid Classics. She has performed as both a pianist and soprano with prestigious ensembles such as the Moritzburg Festival, LUMOS, New Jersey Symphony, Sociedad Filarmónica La Coruña, New Haven Symphony, Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra, and Oregon Mozart Players, to name a few.
Both performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. local time.
