Kristian Sallinen, a young conductor from Finland, has recently become a part of the global management agency HarrisonParrott, based in London. In his new endeavor, he will be represented by Katie Cardell-Oliver and Marissa Pueschel.
Sallinen is currently studying orchestral conducting under the guidance of Sakari Oramo at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He has received mentorship from renowned Finnish teacher Jorma Panula, as well as Paavo Järvi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Hannu Lintu, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Susanna Mälkki, Nicolás Pasquet, and Colin Metters.
Having initially played the violin, Sallinen switched to the viola in 2013. He is a member of the Seele Quartet and achieved third place in the 2017 Finnish National Viola Competition.
Sallinen has already collaborated with several prominent Finnish orchestras, such as the Finnish Radio Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, Sinfonia Lahti, and Tapiola Sinfonietta. In the near future, he will be making his debut with the Sinfonieorchester Basel and will also return to perform with Sinfonia Lahti. Additionally, he has engagements with the Lapland and Ostrobothnian chamber orchestras.
Excited about his new venture, Sallinen took to social media and wrote, "I am delighted to announce that I have joined HarrisonParrott for general management!"
