In a once-in-a-millennium event, the ancient theater of Laodicea, which was constructed during the Hellenistic period, has been meticulously renovated and brought back to life. After centuries of being dormant, the 2,200-year-old theater in the ancient city of Laodicea, situated near the present-day city of Denizli in Turkey, welcomed a remarkable audience of 15,000 individuals for an awe-inspiring concert.

Once a bustling cultural hub during the Greek and Roman eras, the Laodicea theater gradually faded into obscurity following a series of devastating earthquakes in the region. It has been over 1,700 years since the last performance graced the stage of this historic venue, but the recent restoration efforts have revived its grandeur.

To mark this momentous occasion, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Turkey delivered an unforgettable performance that captivated the sold-out crowd. The orchestra's talented musicians showcased a repertoire of renowned classical compositions from both Turkish and foreign origins.

The evening commenced with a poignant tribute to the victims of a destructive earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria earlier this year, as the national anthem played and a moment of silence was observed. The restoration project itself was an ambitious endeavor that spanned two years, requiring the collaboration of a dedicated team of 10 academics, a specialized architect, 12 archaeologists, four restoration experts, and 20 laborers.
