In different terms, Eduardo Strausser, the Brazilian conductor, has been appointed as the Music Director and Principal Conductor of Norrlandsoperan for an initial term of three seasons.
Eduardo Strausser, who is known for his strong support of contemporary music, received his musical education under the guidance of prominent figures like Karlheinz Stockhausen at Zürich University of the Arts and György Kurtág and Brian Ferneyhough at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music.
For the 2023/24 season, he will be returning to conduct the Kansas City Symphony and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, in addition to leading performances with the Bamberger Symphoniker, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orchestre de Montpellier, and the Argovia Philharmonic.
Furthermore, he regularly collaborates with orchestras in the Southern Hemisphere, such as the Sydney Symphony and the Queensland Symphony.
