The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) has elevated two of its current violinists to prominent chair positions and welcomed two new cellists into its ranks.

Justine Campagna, a first violinist, has been promoted to the position of Associate Concertmaster, while Dylan Naroff will assume the role of Assistant Concertmaster. Additionally, Dale Jeong and Yun-Ya Lo have been appointed as Associate Principal Cello and Section Cello, respectively.

Moreover, Carlos Clark, a bassoonist, and Landon Young, a horn player, have been designated as the PSO's Paul J. Ross Fellows for the 2024-2026 seasons. They will join returning fellows Drew Collins, a bassist, and Joshua Carr, a trumpeter.

The Paul J. Ross Fellowship Program is a two-year initiative aimed at supporting musicians who identify as Black or African American. Fellows receive extensive training, financial backing, and mentorship opportunities to prepare for professional auditions and careers in music within an inclusive environment.

Manfred Honeck expressed pride in these appointments, highlighting the musicians' dedication to artistic excellence and their commitment to music education and outreach. Melia Tourangeau also emphasized the PSO's commitment to nurturing young talent and honoring the legacy of Paul J. Ross, a former PSO violinist known for his mentorship and support of emerging musicians.
