Червень 7, 2025

The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra is scheduled to deliver a pair of performances at Carnegie Hall.

On June 12, the first concert will showcase conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin alongside soprano Elza van den Heever, presenting a program dedicated entirely to Richard Strauss. The lineup features the “Der Rosenkavalier Suite,” a selection of orchestral songs, and “Ein Heldenleben.”

Also on June 12, the second concert will be led by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, with soprano Angel Blue as the featured soloist. The program includes Gabriela Ortiz’s “Antrópolis,” Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No. 1, “Jeremiah,” Terence Blanchard’s Orchestral Suite from Fire Shut Up in My Bones, and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.”

These performances are set to take place one week following the close of the Metropolitan Opera’s 2024-25 season, which wraps up with productions of The Queen of Spades and Antony and Cleopatra.

Both concerts highlight the orchestra’s versatility, blending iconic works with contemporary compositions, and promise to be a fitting extension of the Metropolitan Opera’s celebrated season. Yannick Nézet-Séguin, known for his dynamic leadership, will guide the ensemble through these ambitious programs, offering audiences a chance to experience a rich tapestry of musical expression. Tickets for both events are expected to be in high demand, given the star power of the featured artists and the prestige of Carnegie Hall as a venue.
