The Philharmonie Luxembourg has revealed that Martin Rajna will take on the role of Music Director starting in September 2026.
At 29, Rajna is currently serving as the principal conductor of the Györ Philharmonic Orchestra, a position he has held since 2021, as well as the Chief Conductor of the Hungarian State Opera, a role he assumed in 2023.
This past fall, Rajna conducted performances of Der Fliegende Holländer and is currently overseeing a production of Die Fledermaus. In the coming months, he will direct a staging of Macbeth at the Hungarian State Opera in February and March, followed by Easter with Mascagni.
Additionally, Rajna is scheduled to conduct the Orchestra del Teatro la Fenice and perform at the Tiroler Festspiele – ERL.
