The International Contest for Youthful Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz was founded in one thousand nine hundred ninety-fifth, and since two thousand four, has represented Ukraine as portion of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC). Due to the difficulty and ongoing conflicts of the Russia-Ukraine war, the contest was moved to Geneva and renamed the Horowitz Contest Kyiv-Geneva.

The Semi-Final and Final rounds are available for playback on The Violin Channel. The jury, which was chaired by Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits, chose Roman Fediurko as this year's first prize winner. He'll get CHF 20.000 and multiple performance opportunities. The second prize and CHF 15.000 went to Julian Trevelyan while the third prize winners and CHF 10.000 went to Kyoungsun Park.

Roman Fediurko was also awarded the WFIMC Prize for the best interpretation of a Ukrainian work, the Chopin Prize, offered by the Fryderyk Chopin Society of Geneva, the VERE MUSIC FUND Prize, awarded to the best Ukrainian Artist, the Prix Fondation Thiébaud-Frey, and the Audience Prize. The award for the best interpretation of a virtuoso Howoritz transcription was given to Kyoungsun Park.

Named for and in memory of Vladimir Horowitz, who was born and educated in Kyiv, Ukraine, the contest is held in three stages across cycles of three years, with the Jr under-14s div held in two thousand twenty-first, the intermediate 14–19 age grouping in two thousand twenty-second, and the senior grouping in two thousand twenty-third for those aged between sixteen and thirty-three.
