Harmony Across Continents: North American Premieres by Renowned Artists for Ukraine's Cause
Березень 26, 2024

Renowned mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato and the Ukrainian Chorus Dumka New York will be highlighted in a lineup of North American premieres during the upcoming program. Making its first appearance in the United States since 1998, the Kyiv Camerata, Ukraine's foremost chamber ensemble, will deliver an exclusively Ukrainian repertoire under the baton of Canadian Ukrainian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson. This special event, hosted at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall on Sunday, April 28 at 5PM, is organized by USA for Ukraine, a non-profit dedicated to supporting humanitarian and animal causes in Ukraine.

Featuring a 24-member ensemble, the Kyiv Camerata will introduce North American audiences to compositions by prominent Ukrainian composers such as Zoltan Almashi, Oleksandr Kozarenko, Yevhen Stankovych, Volodomyr Zubytsky, Victoria Poleva, and Valentin Sylvestrov. Notably, Shchetynsky's Requiem, Skoryk's Melody, and Sylvestrov's Prayer for Ukraine, while part of the program, have previously premiered in North America.
