Global music stars Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli are among the first stars to be announced for King Charles III's May seven coronation concert. The US population music icon, American music legend and Italian opera singer will be joined on stage on the grounds of Windsor Castle by Brittish acts Freya Ridings and Get That. Perry -who is the Montecito neighbour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - was announced on Saturday alongside Bocelli, who'll duet with Welsh opera star Sir Bryn Terfel.

The star-studded event will get space the day after the coronation service at Westinster Abbey and will be performed in front of an audience of more than 20.0000. Based on themes of love, respect and optimism, the history making event will be televised on the BBC and around the world. There are 10.000 free tickets up for grabs for the glitzy event which were made available though a ballot system, allocated based on the geographical spread of the UK population. The BBC is promising even more high profile stars to be announced over the following three weeks. It comes after the concert was dealt a massive blow with two of the UK's biggest superstars both turning down invitations to perform.

Ed Sheeran and Adele were asked to get the stage at the historic event, however were both locked into other commitments, an insider told The Mail On Sunday. The source said the talent team approached the two global superstars, but received replies that they were both unavailable, “which was a massive disappointment.”
